The Deputy Prime Minister, Hon Warren Truss MP, has today appointed Nicole Willis, Director of Taylor Willis Town Planners, a member of the Regional Development Australia Gold Coast committee for a period of 3 years. The RDA committee plays an important role on the Gold Coast by focusing on regional economic development and facilitating local projects that aim to make a difference for local communities. Nicole said, "RDA will provide an avenue for me to advocate for City shaping infrastructure, such as Light rail extensions, which rely on commitment from the Federal government for funding. RDA commissioned KPMG to produce the Beyond 2050 report recently, so planning for our future seems to be a priority of the current sitting committee & I just want to supercharge that." The RDA committee is chaired by Craig Devlin and the committee is made up of a range of other community leaders.

The current planning scheme permits a second dwelling to be constructed in suburban, acreage & rural areas of the Gold Coast. The second house can be leased/rented or Strata titled and sold (in a similar fashion to a Duplex). With the minimum lot size of suburban lots being 600sq.m and 4000sq.m for acreage, the second dwelling can be Council approved and built on any sized lot, making it a nice loophole to profit from your property. Clearing of NATIVE VEGETATION to accommodate the dwelling is restricted. 4. You must consider BUSHFIRE RISK, SLOPE STABILITY, FLOODING and WASTEWATER, amongst other site constraints. The approval process was managed by us and approval achieved within 4 weeks. This is in stark contrast to other approvals along Siganto Drive that have taken several months.
IN THE MEDIA: Burleigh eyesore to be transformed into iconic surfboard-shaped building

Taylor Willis are pleased to be associated with the redevelopment of the former medical centre site in Burleigh Heads. Managing Director of Taylor Willis Town Planners Robert Taylor said the Boehme family now had a “grand vision to build an iconic building on the site”.
“Gold Coast City Council has enthusiastically supported the plans,” he said.
“The concept is in the early development stage. But we are looking at a 20th century design that taps into the Burleigh Heads surf culture.”
There are preliminary plans to construct a 16-storey tower, shaped like a surfboard, in its place.The first two levels of the building will be set aside for commercial and community use, with plans to include a boardroom for use by local not-for-profit groups, while the rest of the building will be residential tower.
